Throughout scripture, God’s love for humans is proclaimed. God calls us to drink deeply of His affection for us. God’s love springs from within Him and overflows upon our lives. We cannot restrain His devotion any more than we can restrict a spring bubbling into a pool.
God displays His love throughout scripture. Zephaniah was an Old Testament prophet who declared God’s message to His people. Whatever the circumstances, God’s love never changes.
Zephaniah 3:17
“The LORD your God is in your midst, a victorious warrior. He will exult over you with joy, He will be quiet in His love, He will rejoice over you with shouts of joy.
The New Testament shows us God’s love most vividly through the gift of salvation in Jesus.
Romans 3:23-24 (NCV)
Everyone has sinned and fallen short of God’s glorious standard, 24 and all need to be made right with God by his grace, which is a free gift. They need to be made free from sin through Jesus Christ.
1 John 4:10 (NCV)
This is what real love is: It is not our love for God; it is God’s love for us. He sent his Son to die in our place to take away our sins.
Believing God is the foundation for faith. God is not confined by anything. His love conquers all sin, fear, doubt, deceit and duplicity. His purpose is unchanging and everlasting. He is not restrained by death or time. God’s love for us overflows from His character and He crafts a life of purpose to His glory and our good for all eternity (2 Cor. 4:15)
