Who is God? (Part 7) God is omniscient and omnipotent.

Oh, the “Omnis” of God. The Latin word “omnis” means “all”. God is certainly ALL. “Omni” words are impressive sounding, but the words are not nearly as impressive as the God they describe.

Omniscient

God is all-knowing. He knows everything, including what is past, present and future, visible and hidden.

Psalm 44:21
Would not God find this out? For He knows the secrets of the heart.
Psalm 139:1-6
O Lord, You have searched me and known me.
You know when I sit down and when I rise up;
You understand my thought from afar.
You scrutinize my path and my lying down,
And are intimately acquainted with all my ways.
Even before there is a word on my tongue,
Behold, O Lord, You know it all.
You have enclosed me behind and before,
And laid Your hand upon me.
Such knowledge is too wonderful for me;
It is too high, I cannot attain to it.
Romans 11:33-34
Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and unfathomable His ways!34 For who has known the mind of the Lord, or who became His counselor?

Omnipotent

God is all-powerful. His power and strength never diminish nor need replenishing.

Psalm 62:11
Once God has spoken; twice I have heard this: That power belongs to God.
Jeremiah 32:17
Ah Lord God! Behold, You have made the heavens and the earth by Your great power and by Your outstretched arm! Nothing is too difficult for You.
Ephesians 1:18-19
I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, so that you will know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, 19 and what is the surpassing greatness of His power toward us who believe. These are in accordance with the working of the strength of His might
