Livin’ It! (Part 2) Grace, Faith, Hope, and Love

God desires that we come to Him and receive His perfect grace and truth.

1 Timothy 2:1-4 (CSB)
First of all, then, I urge that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for everyone, 2 for kings and all those who are in authority, so that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity. 3 This is good, and it pleases God our Savior, 4 who wants everyone to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.

Responding to God instead of reacting to circumstances, produces a life of prayer, thanksgiving, and surrender. Responding to God lifts us above our circumstance to a place of quiet, godliness and grace.

God replaces our empty way of life with faith and hope.

1 Peter 1:18-21 (CSB)
For you know that you were redeemed from your empty way of life inherited from your fathers, not with perishable things like silver or gold, 19 but with the precious blood of Christ, like that of an unblemished and spotless lamb. 20 He was foreknown before the foundation of the world but was revealed in these last times for you. 21 Through him you believe in God, who raised him from the dead and gave him glory, so that your faith and hope are in God.

Without hope our lives seem purposeless. With faith and hope, there are no limits. God raised Jesus from the dead, and He will freely give all that we need to live in faith (Rom.8:31-32).

Jesus came so we can live continually in His love.

1 John 4:15-16
Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God. We have come to know and have believed the love which God has for us. God is love, and the one who abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him.

We believe and abide in God’s love. In the triumphant place of surrender, we submit all to God through praise and prayer. As we respond to God instead of react to circumstances, we live in the place of purpose and love, no matter what circumstances surround us.
